Salsa or Cha Cha Cha into 2019 with Latin and Ballroom Dance Company; Santhosh Dance

Written by Shellwood Blake on 1st January 2019

Hot on the heels of Strictly glitter ball fever, London based dance company, Santhosh Dance, announces the addition of American Hustle & Smooth classes for 2019, completing the current Dance Fitness schedule.

Based in London and founded by Samiya Noordeen, Santhosh means “joy” in Sanskrit and Santhosh Dance’s mantra is “Dance to Freedom and Fitness”.  Students are offered the opportunity to channel their inner Strictly divas, dancing with professional instructors in groups or on a one to one basis, depending on the class and level of dance chosen.

Regardless of experience and skill, there is a class to suit everyone; from Latin Fitness (based on disco) to American Hustle, with Salsa, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba in between.  With mental and physical fitness top of the UK lifestyle agenda and the nation’s insatiable appetite for all things Strictly, Santhosh Dance strikes a chord with those wishing to challenge themselves with the acquisition of a new skill as well as setting themselves on an alternative path to fitness.

Alongside the set schedule of classes, Santhosh Dance offers a range of workshops exploring and celebrating focal points of Salsa, Latin and ballroom dance.  Based in Notting Hill’s Tabernacle and Danceworks in Mayfair, all classes and workshops are led by professionally trained, highly experienced teachers whose professionalism and enthusiasm ensure a very high repeat client ratio.

Santhosh Founder, Samiya Noordeen, says “I started to dance as a means to fitness, and once my friends joined in and Santhosh Dance was born, I realised that the Santhosh experience stands for so much more than a fitness regime; it is also an expression of beauty and joy.  Santhosh Dance can be everything from a workout through to a life-changing freedom of expression.  We don’t need to be prescriptive about what our clients take from their Santhosh experience as that’s entirely up to the individual.  The repeat client ratio and the enthusiasm of our community speaks for itself and we embrace every level of dancer from a total beginner who considers themselves to have two left feet, right through to our experienced dancers who enter competitions.

The point is that everyone finds their own level of fulfilment from participating in Santhosh Dance but the one theme common running through every Santhosh Dancer is the feeling of being encouraged, nurtured and inspired, which gives them permission to feel free, to let go and have fun!”
